I-9 Verification

Authorized representative services for in-person Form I-9 employment eligibility document review.

Employers with remote hires still need Section 2 of Form I-9 completed by someone who physically examines the new employee's identity and work authorization documents. Acting as the employer's authorized representative, we meet the employee, examine the original documents presented, complete and sign Section 2, and return the form to the employer within the required timeframe. We follow the employer's instructions and do not determine which documents are acceptable on the employer's behalf.

What we prepare

  • In-person examination of Form I-9 identity and work eligibility documents
  • Completion and signature of Section 2 as authorized representative
  • Copying of documents when requested by the employer
  • Prompt return of the completed form to the employer
  • Scheduling for remote and new-hire employees

Who this is for

Employers with remote or out-of-area new hires who need Section 2 of Form I-9 completed in person on their behalf.

Frequently asked questions

Can you decide if my documents are acceptable for I-9 purposes?
No. We examine and document what is presented; the employer is responsible for determining compliance with I-9 requirements.
Who hires the authorized representative?
The employer engages us and provides the Form I-9 and instructions; the employee simply brings their documents to the appointment.
Can this be done remotely by video?
Current federal rules generally require physical examination of documents, so this service is performed in person unless the employer specifies otherwise.
